NEW YORK, 20 MARCH

LUC MEETS A FRIEND

LUC MISSES MEXICO!

LUC A BIT WORRIED ABOUT WAKING UP KING TUT.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT NO PHOTOS OF URI AND MONIQUE SHOPPING WILL BE PUBLISHED!!!

Luc is up early. Monique does some work and emails. We underestimate the weather - nice and warm in hotel, but when we get outside it is freezing - we all run back in for more clothes (greatful for Suzette and all her supplies!!!). Today it is the freezing wind blowing. Uri takes us to a real farmstyle/homestyle restuarant for breakfast. I have grits!!!!! And Luc uses the chance to stuff himself with waffle and maple syrup.
After breakfast we spilt up. Luc and Callie off to the Museum of Natural History (Night at the museum movie!). Uri and Monique off to do some designers shopping at Fellenis Basement. Stunning men's stuff, but not too great for womens clothing. Manage to get stunning designer suit. Here you can pick up a Hugo Boss suit for $299!
Meanwhile back at the museum:
The boys start off with the Space exhibition. See a space show about all the planets, and then Dynasaur Imax show. THen the Red Indians and more and more. The last show is a cosmic show in a ball - Luc is terrified - he thinks the ball is going to fall!
Meanwhile back in Uri's office:
Callie misses the meeting time of 14:00 - so between waiting for Callie, Monique runs to Maceys again and then discovered Conway - with great kids clothes and cheap Lindt! By 3.30 Uri and Monique is starving and grab some soup, whist watching the good looking NYorkers passing by in the street.
Uri sets off to get ready for this movie premier and Callie and Luc finally arrives at the meeting point. We stroll the streets looking for an Iphone and GPS software.
Callie and Luc sticks Monique for a Chinese mani and pedi - 30 minutes and all done! Luc charms the Chinese girls so much that he gets lots of hugs and kisses when we leave. No time to wait for nails to dry, so Monique ventures into the streets with slops and open feet - freezing to death.
We try to get up the Empire State building, but the wait in an hour and it is 8 already. Decide to go to the Kahsung Korean Restaurant (recommended by the Lets Go) in Korea Town. We understand why it is so popular - the wait is also about an hour. We finally get a table and is intimidated by the menu - very strange dishes - oxfeet!!!!! I opt for beef soup with rice and Callie orders a seafood rice dish. Luc goes for Sushi and also fried noodles. Turns out to be a lot of food - with all the complimentary starters. Which, Callie discovers, are very hot!!!!!
Luc falls asleep at the table, but we have to wake him up when we go - lots of bags full of shopping and we have to get the subway.
We wait very long for our train - not realising that it has stopped running. In the end we end up on the express train to 125 Ave (not a good section of town), but a kind man on the train tells us where to get off and what train to take back home.
We finally get home after 12 - very tired, but a great day in NY!
HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY : Luc telling the Chinese ladies that he went to the building on which Hong Kong (should be King Kong) climbed!
